In 1960, Buick had both, an Electra 225 and an Electra. The 225 was separated from a standard Electra by its overall length of 225" (18ft 8in) versus the standard Electra which was 4" shorter. You are looking at a rare Electra 225.. Buick rounded and softened the lines and lowered the fins for the new 1960s models. This 4dr flat top was one of a very limited few. Very few of these cars are left today especially in this condition. The mirror-matic adjustable speedometer was a new feature and way ahead of its time in 1960. Options include pushbutton start, power windows, power bench seat, speed sensor, automatic headlight dimmer, Wonderbar radio with power antenna, adjustable dash cluster and more... All work perfectly!!! This Buick is Air Conditioner Ready which was actually a very rare option in 1960. Most cars either had AC or they didnt. The 225 had an option where air conditioning could easily be added at a later date by the dealer or local service station. This was called "Air Conditioner Ready". The new correct white base coat clear coat paint looks outstanding. The body is straight and completely rust free. Chrome is in showroom condition. The interior seating has been refinished using most of its original pattern and is in excellent condition with no tears or cracks anywhere. The dash is clean and clear and again, show no cracks or tears. Everything works perfectly including all gauges. A small FM converter was installed under the dash decades ago to enhance the Wonderbar AM radio. There are only 43000 miles on this gorgeous classic.. You can look at this car and know that the mileage is accurate. The total production for the Electra 225 in 1960 was 4841. The overall condition of this beautiful Electra 225 Flattop is Excellent! There are a boatload of very original factors in this Electra 225 which add significant value to the car. The car floats down the road and is a pleasure to drive. She has a 401ci engine pushing 325hp at 4400rpm's. She still retains her original Rochester 4 barrel carburetor. Everything is correct for the car except for an upgraded dual master brake cylinder which was added for safety. This big Buick cruiser starts, runs, idles and drives like she did back in 1960. Brakes are new. There are absolutely no fluid leaks. There is nothing you need to do but drive, drive and drive some more. This cruiser is ready for every bit of it.
