The Chevelle was a mid-sized car produced from 1964 through 1977. Ranging from economical family cars to powerful muscle cars, and was one of the company's most successful models. By 1970 it had become one of the fiercest muscle cars on the road with a wide range of available big block engines. Typical of the muscle car era, it was also the ability to tailor a car to exactly what you wanted, from bare bones drag cars to well optioned convertibles with big block engines for the best of both worlds, cruising and racing!! This rare documented Chevelle SS396 Convertible is finished in the perfect colors for a 1970 model, Cranberry Red with black stripes, white convertible top on a saddle bucket interior. It features a numbers matching L34 396 big block engine rated at 350HP mated to a Turbo Hydramatic 400 transmission and 12 bolt posi-traction rear axle with 3:31 gear ratio. Riding on F41 heavy duty suspension, this fully restored car also features power assisted front disc brakes, power steering, SS wheels and dual exhaust. Making this convertible even more unique is ultra rare factory air conditioning. Of course this long list of desirable factory options comes fully documented with a factory build sheet showing exactly how the car rolled off the Baltimore Assembly plant.
