1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Convertible Numbers Matching U-Code 440 with Factory Air Conditioning One of the most popular yet short lived marques of the muscle car era was the Dodge Challenger. Introduced in 1970, by 1974 it was already on the way out and yet is still regarded as one of the best looking muscle cars of the era. Beautifully restored in its factory correct livery of FE5 Bright Red with optional longitudinal white stripe and a red high back bucket seat interior, this Challenger R/T is a truly fully "loaded" convertible. Special ordered for delivery in California, this car is equipped with options such as factory air conditioning, Rallye Instrument cluster, power brakes, power steering, power windows, power convertible top, tach, woodgrain console, Multiplex AM/FM radio, dual exhaust with chrome exhaust tips and hood pins on a sport hood covering the massive numbers matching U code 440-4bbl rated at 375hp with "slap stick" automatic transmission. It is also believed that this car has a very special and interesting history; reported to have been delivered new to Bob Hope as supporter and advertising celebrity for Chrysler Corporation at the time which explains the special options and California delivery. Over the years a lot of documentation has been accumulated to go with the car such as a full decoding from Galen Govier, lots of original advertising material and a plethora of Bob Hope paraphernalia. A beautifully restored MOPAR, big block, convertible with tons of options, it is a very special car to add to any collection or to see cruising duty on a sunny afternoon.
