This absolutely verified & documented 1970 Chevelle Malibu SS 396 is one of the nicest, original Chevelles we've seen in a long time. This white 1970 Chevelle SS 396, with black stripes and a black interior, loaded up as follows: tinted glass, bucket seats, vinyl roof, console, sport stripes, positraction axle, Turbo Hydramatic transmission, power steering, AM radio, and SS 396 engine. Oh, and $30.00 for the undercoat! The original Sales Invoice was still in the glove box, and, better yet, the ORIGINAL Warranty Booklet with the ORIGINAL Protect-O-Plate was present as well. The current owner drove the car sparingly for years, in nice weather only and then decided to treat the Chevelle to a no holds barred restoration, performed by Classic Auto Works of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, that took the better part of three years. A complete set of photos, both before, during and after the restoration are present, which lay down evidence of the rust free, collision free state of this Chevelle before the restoration was undertaken. The original body is entirely present, including the trunk pan and floor pans. Two minor patch panels were used on the lower quarters, and a few dents removed ... but that's it ... every panel on this Chevelle is original to the car. During the disassembly process, another key piece of documentation surfaced: not one, but TWO ORIGINAL Chevrolet Broadcast Sheets. As evidenced by the Broadcast Sheet, Chevy built this Chevelle with the following features: Tinted Glass; Strato Bucket Seats; Vinyl Top; Console; Hood & Deck Stripes; Positraction; 3.31 Axle Ratio; Power Brakes; Power Front Discs; 396 CI 4 Barrel; 3 Speed Automatic, and; Power Steering Wheel. Finally, the Broadcast Sheet evidences that this car was built was a Malibu, from the factory with White Paint (LWR 10), Black Vinyl Top, Black Vinyl Trim and, as an SS 396 Conversion (ZL3).
